ROOM 5 SPEECHES 2015

We all had a chance to express ourselves , share our views with the audience,mark each other's speeches , and receive their feedback at the speech competition in R5.We also completed a self evaluation and how to improve next time!

Congratulations.
 
Winners in our class were Leroy, Ema, Elizabeth and Samoatearoa.Their topics were informative,persuasive and interesting.They presented well at the assembly on Friday 11 September.
 
We'd like to share some new information we gained from this speech competition: 
The Queen Bee can live for several years – Joyce
Polar bears fur is clear – Amy
The Silver Ferns Netball team first started as a team in 1938 – Anna
The greater short tailed bats are thought to be extinct – Ruby
The Samoans play kirikiti  in Samoa TJ
Sting Rays and Sharks only come at  midnight Noella
There are millions of  rabbits in New Zealand Charlie
That the Rarotongan language is very similar to the Maori language – Chloe
There are different gods in Egypt Chris
The meaning of GPS is Global Positing System James
I learnt that the African wild dogs’ Latin name is Lacyon Pictus which  means painted wolves. Kavalla
I learnt about all the different moves you can do in gymnastics- you need to  train your hardest and not quit. Talia
I learnt that 60% of Pacific island children are obese and that it is important for us to eat healthy and exercise. Samoa
