SECRET SANTA IN ROOM 5-Tuesday 11 December

Posted by Picasa
After Mass practise this morning Room5 shared their  Secret Santa. Everyone was very grateful. We got lots of different presents including chocolates , sweets and toys.
We learnt how to give to others using generosity and great joy. We will now try to give to the needy, especially the needy children who suffer everyday .
We enjoyed it so much that we wish we could magically win a million dollars to spend on the needy children .
We enjoyed giving and we hope you will continue to give to the people who most need it especially during this Christmas season.
Freya and Carina.

Community Service at Brookhaven Rest Home-Thursday 6 December

Last Thursday Rooms 5 and 3 went to the Brookhaven Retirement home to entertain the old people. We all ran in and sat down in front of the old people and we did our Samoan dance. Next we sang some rounds called the Crawdad Song and The Burrowing African Aardvark. We also sang  a Barney song called The Green Grass Grows. Our last song was a song called God Has A Big Surprise for Advent  and we did a dance for the chorus.
The final item was a medley of Christmas songs and carols. We then handed the residents sweets we made as part of our technology project this term.
It was lovely talking with the old men and women who just loved us being there .We hope to  do this service in 2013.

Christmas Food Ball Production

On Tuesday, we made fruit balls for the Brookhaven old people’s homes to wish them a merry Christmas.  First we crushed the biscuits in a clean plastic bag with a rolling pin. Next we melted 125 grams of butter. Then we let the butter cool and added in an egg and sugar. Next we put half a cup of dried fruit  and  a quarter of a cup of chocolate chips. When we finished making them we put them in the fridge to set.  Two days later we put them in the boxes we made for the residents at Brookhaven.  Mrs Reddy gave us one each  to try. They were delicious.
