LEARNING TO BE EMERGENCY SMART IN FUTURE ;;;;;; Tuesday 12 May

As soon as the bell went this morning we walked quickly to the Mission Centre. Chris from CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL was waiting to teach us about civil defence and emergency management.

These are some new things that we learned:

JOYCE - Stay away from flooded areas.

ANNA - Always be prepared the food and water.

BRAYDEN – I know all the gear and food in an emergency kit.

KAVALLAYou need to have 3 litres of water per person per day in storage.

AMYGood idea to have emergency plan.

LEROYBe prepared with enough drinking water.

TALIAIt is important to have and to follow an emergency plan.
 

TJ – Get important medicines in a pandemic.

JAMESYou can make clothes out of rubbish   bags.

SAMOAKeep a distance of one metre away from sick people.

CHLOEDon’t go to the beach to watch waves in a Tsunami.

ASHLYNA pandemic is when the whole world is affected by a sickness.

CHRIS Water is more important than food.

LEVIDo not drink flood water.

SALUStay away from beaches during an earthquake.

RUBYWater can be stored up to one year.

MICAYLAFind shelter quickly in a storm if you are outside

MACARIUSYou can go three weeks without food and only 3 days without water.

BENBe familiar with Tsunami signs in your area.

ELIZABETHIn an earthquake take omly 3-4 steps to drop, cover , hold.

CHARLIEA Tsunami erupts in the sea.

TINA – Stop driving your car in an earthquake.
