Recount - CATHOLIC SCHOOLS
DAY-2013
On Wednesday 22 May St Anne’s celebrated Catholic Schools’ Day.
Every class celebrated either by having a party, a shared lunch or watching a
movie.
It wasn’t just that. After
morning tea, we had a Catholic Schools’ Day Mass and Room 5 led it.
Parishioners and parents
were also part of the Mass. Our priest was Fr Dan and our altar servers were
Jack Swain and Connor McKean. We started with a welcome by Mary Jane.
I said the opening prayer.
We had four hymns : “Go Now”, “We Can Be the Change”, “Send out Your Spirit”
and “Grow in Love”. I think we sang them beautifully .We also had some prayers
of the faithful.
Mass was magnificent and our
art displays about the day was amazing. If you have time come and see them
displayed in our foyer.
After Mass we all went back
to our classes because by the time Mass was finished, it was lunch time. Room 5
didn’t prepare a shared lunch but we all sat down on the mat and ate together.
After lunch we had fun time and
in the middle of it some Year Ones came
in with several trays of scrumpcious food! It was such a surprise .So, while we
were enjoying ourselves with games and free time ,we could also have a yummy
snack!
Catholic Schools Day was
amazing and I can’t wait until the next one!
