THE CATHOLIC POPE
The Pope is the leader of the Catholic Church
and its 1.2 billion Catholics. He lives in Rome in the Vatican City. Our last
Pope was Pope Benedict the sixteenth who has now retired.
The Pope has to be a man and
a Catholic. He has to make good decisions. He has to start as a priest then he
becomes a bishop. If a bishop is good enough then he will become a cardinal.
Only a cardinal can be a Pope. The Pope has to be well educated about the
church, he has to be loving, caring and kind.He must make firm decisions. He
has to speak in different languages to speak to Catholics around the world.
The Pope has a lot of work
to do. He has to run all the churches in the world. He also leads all the
bishops and priests and cardinals. He appoints bishops and cardinals and
Bishops. The Pope guides all the churches to do what they need to do. He is in
charge of all the church property.
The Pope’s responsibility is
to take care of all the churches, so if there is any damage in or out of the
church the Pope has to order the repair. The Pope has to have enough money to
run all the churches in the world.
The Pope names saints. A new
saint that was announced recently by Pope Benedict - Saint Mary Mc killiop. If
someone abuses the church the Pope would find a solution using the teachings of
the church. He often he delivers his messages pleasantly through his letters
and Masses.
I think that our new Pope, Pope Frances the Sixteenth is
going to be great. He is from Argentina
and is 76 years of age.
By Chelsea.
