FRIDAY NETBALL

Every Friday Rooms 4 and 5  girls go to the court to play netball. Mrs. Reddy does the coaching for the girls. First we do some warm ups, next is skills building. Then we work out  our game plan before we actually play.

For warm ups we do shuttle runs. This is when we run up to the first line and back, second and back and then we run the full court. Then we get into three big circles and get a person in the middle (with the Gilbert, size four ball) and pass the ball around the circle so we can feel the ball. We practice passes like chest pass, bounce pass, side pass high pass and lob.We are getting better.
Next we start off with practising  netball skills  on the court like passing, moving and team work. We also learn about  each position and play in them. Mrs Reddy will know the best positions to put us when we go to the competition. All of us are getting ready and competitive  to do the best we can .
When we practise the actual game of netball, we make sure we are in the right positions. We put on our  netball bibs. When we play the game  we learn how to defend, attack and apply the skills practised earlier. Practising netball allows us to do an amazing job and  compete against other teams.

Netball is a very fun sport and we  enjoy playing it every Friday in our  amazing teams! We will be more than ready for the South East Zones and Catholic School sports next term!
The girls just cannot wait!
