KAPA HAKA - Cultural Festival Wednesday 28 August

PARTICIPANTS AND SPECTATORS KEEPING OUR MAORI AND PASIFIKA CULTURES ALIVE!

Yesterday at eleven o’ clock we had our morning tea and got into our costumes. After that we got on the bus to go to the Westpac Arena.Once we arrived we were seated in our place.. First we  watched a couple of schools and then it was time for us to go on. As soon as we got backstage we were  nervous and hoping not to  make mistakes. When we started running out onto the stage it was confusing but after we started singing we were  fine. We really enjoyed the performance and I thought  we all did well.

Room 5 Participants

The whole of St Anne’s school went to the New Zealand Cultural Festival at C.B.S stadium! Our school was the second to perform, but I thought they brought the house down! The show was performed for the closing schools in Christchurch. The Highland dancers -sailors also preformed too, Indi and Amelia from our school did the sailor dance. Even the boys from St Bead's preformed for us! The 2013 Cultural Festival was a great one!
