This afternoon it was our turn to join Room 4 to finish painting the poppies and getting them ready to place on our Memorial Fence tomorrow.We thought that Room 1 and Room 2 had done a great job of the first painting.
I can't wait to see all the poppies on display. This is a wonderful way to commemorate ANZAC Day. Leroy's great grandad Howard was in WWII. He was captured and was in a concentration camp. We loved visiting as kids and sitting listening to all the stories about war. Pop has his hand drawn map of the concentration camp he was held in. As a tribute to family members in the war Leroy and his brothers will be in the ANZAC day parade in New Brighton on Saturday.
