Mission Fair Preparations

I was worked  hard on the posters for the Mission Fair. Letone, Jeremy and I did some posters for the food stall. While we were doing this Ms Reddy took our pictures with our shape art and our summer leaves that were going to be sold at our Mission Fair this week. Finally we did the prices for the food that was going to be sold at the Mission Fair. This morning was good because we didn’t have to do any normal school work.

YEAR OF FAITH ICON AT OUR SCHOOL!

Catholic Sports Tournament- Friday 13 September

 

  Last Friday, after morning tea we hopped on the bus to go to Hagley Park for the Catholic Sports Tournament. There were two teams from our school in the soccer tournament. There was an A team and a B team. Both teams played 6 games. Our team played lots of teams. A team  won 4 games but lost 2.  We lost the two games because  of the keeper.We were disappointed when we lost both games. We had a great time playing and having fun at the tournament and  hope we could play next year and also win.

Catholic Sports Tournament Friday 13 September

Dear Diary

We travelled to the Hagley Park.. I was in the netball A team playing centre, one of the best positions. When we got off the bus we had to go straight to the netball courts. We were worried because it was Friday the 13^th and everyone knows that Friday the 13^th is an unlucky day. The first team we played was O.L.V. and we were winning at first but they won 7 to 1.We did get the first goal of the tournament.

The second team we played was C.K.T. and they gave us a good thrashing and we lost 1 to 13. We finally had our victory in the third game  we played, it was goal after goal after goal. Our fourth and fifth teams were also victories. It turned out that Friday the 13^th wasn’t so bad after all. It certainly wasn’t unlucky as we won three out of five games.

St Anne’s Senior Speech Competition

Last Friday St Anne’s had their speech competition. The who students in the competition from Our class were Laverton-Y6 winner and Jamal-Year winner. The  speeches were really good. Laverton's speech was about “Why School Is Important, and Jamal’s speech was about Water Vs. Coke. I thought these two speeches were the best speeches out of the whole senior competition.I invite you to listen to their speeches and see if you agree with me.

GROWING UP-PUBERTY

Everyone is unique even though we grow up in four different ways. These changes are exciting and challenging for everyone.

Emotionally we start to handle our fear more successfully. We begin to control our emotions and act appropriately. Life brings us new experiences and new feelings which cause changes to our emotions.

Physically we experience changes. We get stronger, heavier and taller every day. Our face  may have pimples. Our hair can become darker and greasier. It is important to take care of our bodies, keeping them  clean, through this time.

Socially we begin to develop new relationships with our friend and families. We begin to move into new environments such as high school and clubs. As we get older we start to take more responsibility for ourselves. This can be fun as we learn to take control.

Everyone goes through changes like these on the journey to adulthood.
