Friendly Afternoon Concert 2013

Last Friday we performed a concert in the Mission Centre. We did a Rakau item, sang a song and performed the sasa.

 Finally we sang a Christmas medley which finished with We Wish You a Merry Christmas.  There was a lady there who gave us yummy lollies. I think our  performance  was  awesome   I  really  enjoyed  doing  the  Rakau  with Leo.

 I hope we can do this for the elderly people next year.

Taylor Swift Concert Experience

 

Last week Sofia and I flew to Auckland with some other friends to see the Taylor Swift concert. When we got to Waldorf Stadium apartment hotel we checked in, dropped our luggage off and went food shopping. When got back to the hotel we settled in and went to sleep. In the morning we all went to explore Auckland and visit the Sky Tower. While we were up there we saw people bungee jump from the building.

 After that we had a quick  dip in the pool and got ready for the conced rt an arrived at Vector Arena around 4:30.We  bought lots of merchandise such as a T-shirt and a  started at 7.30pm.

 The guest star was Neon Trees. The concert was exciting  and my favourite part was when the stage was lifted up. My  favourite song “Sparks Fly” because Swift hugged fans and there were fireworks.

 I really enjoyed the Taylor Swift RED tour concert. I will have to save up again to go back when she returns to New Zealand.

PASIFIKA DAY 2013

On Thursday 28 November we  celebrated the Samoan people in our school by having a Pasifika day. Mrs. Reddy and Railynetta gave Room 5 some Samoan lavalava to wear and leighs made of shells to wear.

At lunch time, instead of our normal lunch, we had Samoan food. There was buns dipped in coconut cream and Samoan pancakes. The buns and pancakes made us very full. It was very delicious lunch.

When it was time for the concert we all brought our rakau sticks and lined up to go to the Mission Centre. Room 2 did the welcome and Room 1 sang a song. Afyer Room 4 ‘s song with beautiful actions,  it was our turn. The boys did the sasa, the girls sang and danced to “Le Aute”.Everyone joined in to do rakau sticks. Room 6 did a wonderful finish with a haka and a Samoan song.

We all enjoyed Pacifica day and we think it is great to have different cultures in our school.                        BY  MIMI

GREAT NEIGHBOURS AWARD!

This morning we had a special Neighbourhood Support  assembly. I was so excited because I got a big award for being the head garden club leader giving great ideas. I got the main award of the year for leading the Garden Club, having great ideas and getting children to respect direction.

In future I will try and get more children to join the Garden Club.

RECONCILIATION - PREPARING FOR CHRISTMAS!

Dear Diary

Father Dan and Father Foot came to our class and talked to us about reconciliation. We prepared ourselves using the Our Father prayer. The priests put chairs under the shade of the trees, and one by one we went to reconciliation.  I went to Father Foot and  talked to him about my faults and after that I said a prayer he told me to do. It was  a Hail Mary and one Glory Be To The Father in our garden outside room 5.
We felt good and will try hard to be more like Jesus thanks to Father Dan and Father Foot.
