Andrea Talks To Room 5 - What We Can Do To Help in Our Neighbourhood.

Here are some of the things we learned we can do.
Gracyn :  “Get to know your neighbours.”
Amelia- “Pick up rubbish along your street.”
Faith- “Look after your animals.”
Rosie- “Bring in elderly person's rubbish bins.”
Solomon- “Bring in newspaper of elderly neighbours.”
Carina- “Get help for someone who is injured.”
Grace- “Take something for your sick neighbours.”
Indi- “If someone is doing graffiti tell an adult.”
Nadine  -  “Become a girl guide or scout.”
Freya-  “Continue to keep the school grounds tidy.”
We are going to try hard to follow Andrea’s ideas and be really good neighbours.

Shrove Tuesday 21 February

On Shrove Tuesday, we usually have pancakes because then we can start fasting with no food to tempt us.
We thank God for our food and all who cook it.Help us to enjoy what we eat and know it is healthy for us.
Help us to share our food with those who do not have much.

Today is Shrove Tuesday. Just before play we had a school Mass practice  for Ash Wednesday.
After play only Room Five had a reading practise in the mission centre because we leading this Mass. When we finished we made pikelets to remind us of Jesus. The pikelets were yummy with cherry jam and maple syrup. Thanks Mrs Reddy.

Thinking of the Earthquake- The People of Christchurch - 22 February 2012

Today  is Ash Wednesday.
We begin our forty-day journey through Lent
 toward the light of Easter.
Lent is to be a time of growth and
 renewal for all of us.
We are going to do THE RIGHT THING.
We also think of all and the victims of the Earthquake which struck Christchurch a year ago today.
Let us remember them in our prayers.
