St Anne's Feast Day 2011-Friday 5 August.

The feast of the Patron Saint of our school, St Anne, Mary’s mother was on the 26 of July while we were on holiday.  We are gathered here this afternoon to thank God for the  gift St Anne and St Joachim for being such great grandparents.

In this liturgy  we  thank God for our own families and the gifts he has given us.
We also thank God for our loving grandparents as we honour the grandparents of Jesus.

Lord Jesus  you  call us to follow you ,have mercy on us..

Lord  Jesus you have told us to love one  have mercy on  us.

Lord Jesus you have called us to feed the hungry, have mercy on  us.

God our Father
St Anne and St Joachim model for us faithful parenting.
May those who are ents look to them for hope.
May they model the love of    Christ  in  their  parenting
And support of all families.
Grant this through Christ our Lord
Amen.

Sounds Made With our VegetableIinstruments.

Great effort Zoe!

Well done Robert!

R5 Orchestra

In Room 5 we have  been learning about musical  instrumentsare, how they are played, the families they belong to and their historical and cultural importance. Each of us constructed  a musical instrument and tried to create "music" with it .Some of us were rather successful while others are still trying to make the sound they want.It was a lot of fun.

Can you identify the family  groups that make up an orchestra?
Most of us completed making our instruments on time              ,
The instuments were made from a variety of materials including vegetables.
See if you can name some.

Robert Makes a Trumpet.

The instrument I made is a trumpet. It’s made from VEGETABLES.The kumara for bell, plastic tube is  covered with Christmas paper. The  broccoli  is connected with a trumpet mouth piece. It was easy to make because I was more successful the  second time I made it. It makes an annoying sound but I  am proud of what I’ve done .
