TENA KOUTOU!TALOFA LAVA!

Dear Parents and Caregivers
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time teaching your children this year.

Looking forward to retirement!
I was lucky to have a fantastic bunch of students who have worked hard  with their learning and made huge strides with their progress.
The students have been delightful and we have grown very close yet there is that level  of respect and a very good understanding of my expectations of them-excellence !
I have absolutely loved all the fun and games, especially playing sports with them ,doing drama, dance  and teaching them to play  the recorder this term. Everyone can play what we set out to achieve and I am very proud of their accomplishments.
Please continue to teach them  honesty, self-control and discipline with love ,so that they are equipped to make the best choices about their learning in future,
I wish you all the very best and thank you for your continued support. The reports go out next week and I strongly recommend you follow the NEXT STEPS and HOW YOU CAN HELP THEM AT HOME.
I look forward to seeing you all at the EOY Mass and my farewell cake and tea supper straight afterwards next Tuesday.
Mass starts at 6.30 and students are expected to be at church by 6.15pm. The students have been asked to come dressed as they did for the dress rehearsal last week. Please ensure their clothes are ironed.
May God bless you and guide you always. Keep smiling!
I wish you all a holy and happy Christmas.
Happy holidays!

YOUNG VINNIES LAST ACT OF SERVICE.-Thursday 3 December

Dear Parents
I was extremely  proud of the Young Vinnies who put so much effort and time in preparing something special for the elderly women who visited us from the Age Concern group this morning.
They  escorted them into the hall ,sang a song of welcome before serving them with hot drinks, cakes, biscuits, scones and muffins. The women loved talking to them and so did the students.
They sure did reflect the love of Jesus to others today- I was very touched by the love they showed to total strangers.God bless them all.
You must be just as proud of the Vinnies as I am.

YOUNG VINNIES

Wednesday  2 December
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Our Young Vinnies act of service this term is to bake something for a shared morning tea tomorrow for the visitors from the Age Concern Group. They will be spending time talking to the elderly folk about school life.
I had a meeting with them this morning to discuss this service activity and everyone seemed very keen.
Thank you for encouraging your children to be involved in the Mission of the Church as young adults who reach out to the lonely and needy.
God bless you all with a holy and happy Christmas.
Warm regards
Grace Reddy (DRS)

Dear Room 5

Well how are you all doing?
Sorry to tell you but my heels are badly sprained and all strapped up at the moment.
The podiatrist said I have been  giving my feet a very rough time  and  I might have to give up tennis. I couldn't believe my ears and told him that it would be impossible for me to give up the sport I love.
One strapped up heel!

He then suggested I rest them until they heal.

Because my heels are in a lot of pain, I am resting them over the next few days  so I can be with you until the end of the year.
Look after Mrs Grant .She has the details of what I would like you to do tomorrow .

I am sure you had a good day with Mrs Bell. Take care --- and lead the singing for the whole school well. I am so proud of you!
Miss you guys and girls! Have a nice weekend.
See you all on Monday!

God bless
Mrs Reddy.

Anna and I from Rm5 represented our class to show them our blog. We explained what was happening and how everything worked. They liked that every student in our class  had a go at blogging and to see some good action shots posted.
I hope that everything goes well and they enjoy our school.

           Reconciliation
In a couple of weeks Father Dan is going to hear our  confession to prepare for Christmas.

The goal: My goal is to go to reconciliation

Materials: You and your priest

Steps:

Step 1 -Start with the sign of the cross.

Step 2  - Say a very special pray “Bless me Father for I have sinned, It has been __ since my last confession”.

Step3-  Tell Father your sins in a private place or in a church and then the father will bless you and forgive your sins.

Step 4 - Father talks to you and tells you what to do to make up for your sins.

Step5 - Say the Act Of Contrition “Oh my God I am very sorry that I have sinned against you because you are so good and with your help I will try not to sin again”.

Step7  - Go to a quiet place and do your penance.

Reconciliation helps you to become friends with God and people again.

PROCEDURAL WRITING IN ROOM 5

We learned to  Pray the Rosary. Here is a procedure written by Ashlyn.

The Rosary is a traditional Catholic prayer about what happened in the lives of Mary and Jesus.

Goal: To pray the Rosary.

Requirements: A set of Rosary beads.

STEPS:

1: Make the sign of the cross holding the charm of Jesus and say The Creed.

2: Say one Our Father.

3: Pray three Hail Marys.

4: Pray one Our Father.

5: Announce the first mystery and pray one Our Father.

6: Pray ten Hail Marys followed by one Glory Be.

7: Repeat the steps for the other 4 decades.

8: Finish with Hail Holy Queen or A Litany To Mary.

We pray the Rosary in our class and we did a lot of this prayer last month-in October.

LEARNING ABOUT THE SAINTS

We celebrate the  Feast of All Saints on November 1st as a  remembrance  of all those men and women who have lived  heroic Gospel-inspired lives and who have been recognised by the Church.

We honour all the saints who showed us how to love God and other people.
This feast reminds us of our ultimate goal to be with God.We are called to follow Jesus in all that we

Our reading last week was to research a saint each to find how they inspire us.

We presented this using a stained glass window and displayed it at our Parish and School Mass last Sunday.

We are going to try and be like our saint every day.
