MISSION FAIR 2014

The students in Room 5 are to be congratulated on their leadership in organising the whole Fair. They were willing and creative in the stalls assigned to them.
Here is what they had to say about their stalls afterwards.

ART AND CRAFT STALL
We  worked at the Arts and Craft Stall and  we sold  a variety of things like pairs of slippers, scarves and tops.
Most  were hand made. We sold beautiful Christmas decorations. Our stall also sold some cool soft toys. There were clothes for dolls ,babies and also little children. The first shift was taken by Talia, then Elizabeth and after that  it  was Ruby's turn.
We  earned lots of money for the poor children.
By Ruby, Elizabeth, Talia.

THE LUCKY DIP
In our Lucky Dip stall we raised a lot of money for the Mission Fair. Many parents and children bought our lucky dips, some even bought 6 lucky dips. We counted our money and made sure we gave the right amount of change. We worked in our stall for a very long time to gain money. At the end of the day  we earned a big amount of money. It was an exciting day and we are excited for next year and we enjoyed working together.

 MYSTERY PARCEL STALL
At the Mystery Parcel stall our customers were lining up and so we finished early. Most of the time customers just kept on coming back. It was only Mrs Ackers and I working there.
Luckily  Mrs Ackers and I made  a good team. Our store was a hit and we were glad that people kept on coming back. We sold 204 parcels. By Elisah

WHITE ELEPHANT
We were busy in our the White Elephant stall and sold lots of things like crockery , clothes and all sorts . We also did it with our principal, Mr C. We had a really great time selling things in the Mission fair.

GARDEN STALL
At the garden stall we had lemons, tomatoes, trees, peas and pot plants. At the start we had so many customers but sadly it died down. However, amazingly we sold more than sixty dollars worth. We  were so happy with the profit we made - it was a good day at the office.

 JEWELLERY STALL
At  12:30 ,we started selling jewelleryFirst, three laddies came by and bought a bracelet and a necklace. We had a wide selection of jewellery including  necklaces, rings and bangles. The most popular item we sold was the necklace. Most items were between 1-4 dollars. At the end of the Mission Fair we ended up with lots of money for the poor. We were happy.

Thanks to Room 5 for their outstanding effort .We raised approximately $3000 which will be shared out and sent to The Holy Childhood Society ,CARITAS and the Mission Sisters.              By Grace

Our Last PIeces of Writing to Share this Term - ARGUMENTS

FACEBOOK
Quite a lot of children under 13 years of age have a Facebook account when it is illegal. I think people under 13 shouldn’t have a Facebook account.
Firstly, they might get bullied online or they might bully someone else. Chatting websites such as twitter or Facebook can create problems.
Secondly, strangers and people you don’t know might send messages and ask you for your private and personal information. This will affect your personal life and you can be in a risky situation.
Thirdly, some students  under 13 years old can grow an addiction and get hooked on Facebook. Instead of doing daily homework and playing outside on a nice day they will be inside on their computer on Facebook.
I think people under 13 years old should not have a Facebook as it can start concerns for parents. Once they are old enough they will be mature enough to use Facebook the right way.
