Mrs Reddy’s Classroom Newsletter

Greetings to you all and I hope that you  all had a lovely holiday and the children are well rested for the last term of the year. I had a lovely time in Brisbane for 10 days and wish I could have brought the warmth back with me..

We have a very busy term planned which will keep us well occupied. On Wednesday we are having a retreat at Te Rangi Marie Centre(see attached letter) and athletics training in preparation for the school  and South East zones  competitions begin this week.

Thanks for your support of the Mission Fair and I am very proud of my students who organized and managed the whole event .

The students will continue to need a lot of guidance and support in keeping the routines to engage in learning.. I hope that  the children will work on becoming self-propelled learners  and develop this responsibility with a positive attitude.I shall endeavour to do the best I can to ensure their progress in all areas. The  assertive discipline policy in my class will be continued to help  those children who still need help in acquiring  appropriate behaviours  and work habits.

END OF TERM FUN!

On the last day of term three we had our mission fair. At the mission fair there were lots of stalls. Gracyn and Amelia looked after the mystery prizes with Miss Ackers. Lilly had an exciting time at the lucky dip stall and sold every prize we wrapped.

There also was an x factor which Room 5 performed in. Amelia and Indi taught us highland dancing. Leo and Laverton taught us the Samoan sasa. Our performance was the best.

We raised one thousand and nine hundred dollars for the poor children. We think our money will really make a difference in the lives of the needy children in our world.

On Friday 28 we raised money for the poor .We organised the stalls which was so much fun. It started with a sausage sizzle lunch.

Jamal and  Kian did the plants stalls and sold lots of seed, lemons, plants and pots. Sam sold the toy stall by herself. Jeremy helped Mrs Reddy with the food stall.

It ended with a talent quest.

We raised $1900 in one day. it was a fantastic idea.

Mission Fair Fun

On the last Friday of Term 3 Room 5 were the leaders of Mission Fair. It was really fun selling things for the first time.

There were a lot of things to sell like lollies, Art, cakes, muffins, the raffle and lucky dip for boys and girls.

It was a fun experience for everyone and some of us helped pack up after the Mission Fair. At the end of the day we raised up to $ 1900.

Mission Fair - 2013

On the last day of term three we had a mission fair. The mission fair is a time to raise money for the poor and the needy, but it is also a time to have fun.

Our class had to do a lot of work. Although Room  five were  the main organisers the other classes helped in their own ways. The things that we sold were collected by neighbours, friends and even teachers.

We even added an X factor of our own. There were singers, dancers and even magicians. A singer group called the “Rock Stars” won. Mimi who did a magic act and  got a $20 note!

We had a lot of fun raising  $1900 .
