Universities can be expensive and because of this, I feel
that the costs involved should be lowered.
Firstly, the student loan scheme means that students have a
lot of debt. This means it has to be paid back which can add up and to a lot of money in three to four years at university.
Another reason to lower the costs of tertiary education is
young adults get put off going to university. Again it
is because of the debt they will have to pay off afterwards.
Another factor is students who fail on a paper or two will
have to repeat these lessons. Even more debt will be added on to their
education costs.
Lastly, young adults from wealthy families are probably more
likely to attend university. This is because they have the means to pay for
their education and not have to go into debt. What does this mean?It means access to university
is restricted to the more wealthy members of the population, which is unfair to
others.
In conclusion, I hope that universities cost less in the
future so many more young adults can enjoy tertiary education!
