First Day Back Term 4-ADay to Remember!

Posted by Picasa
It was fun coming back to school today. We talked about what we are learning this term and are looking forward to our drama in December. Another exciting activity is the trip we are planning as a class.
The high light of today was doing community service as a whole school. We planted grass seeds and covered them with mushroom compost .This we did in the town ship of Woolston. It was really good getting our hands dirty for something good.
We look forward to the rest of the term.

School Hoildays

Dear Parents

Thanks to all of you for coming to the mission fair last Friday.Your support was great and the children have learned a lot through the preparations and organisation. The students will post more things themselves on our blog when they come back to school.

The students  have earned a well-deserved break but as you know it is important that they read and work on their basic facts. They also  have some interesting reading around the RWCup and I would appreciate that this is completed as they follow the progress of this major tournament. This study was started at school.
I am sure you are excited that the All Blacks have made it to the semis.

I shall be sending you a newsletter about the events of Term 4 when we return in 2 weeks.

Cheers and God blesss.

Grace.

WIND ENERGY PROJECTS - TERM 3

Great effort students!Your projects are amazing!

ENERGY CONCEPT-TERM 3 Grace Reporting

We have been learning how new technologies can change society in a positive way and improve its relationship to the environment and develop an understanding of how wind turbines work in the context of generating electrical energy.
The students then had to take part in a technological challenge to design, draw and construct .They also had to use a given website for formation to help them with this assignment.
I am of very proud of their effort and achievement.

A  big thank you to all the parents for helping the students which shows you are supportive and interested in the learning that goes on in Room 5.

The pictures below show students sharing and discussing their creations using wind energy in  terms of the performance of their design.
