FUN DAY WITH WHEELS

FUN DAY WITH WHEELS.
This morning  at a quarter to ten ,as part of our PE programme,we walked down to Bamford School ,to take part in "Wheels Day" provided free by Christchurch City Council
It was very exciting seeing the colourful gear waiting for us on arrival. Luke, the instructor, quickly took us through  the steps with skateboarding and roller skating. As soon we had our safety gear on,away we went.
We played hockey and some of us went up the ramp. One or two of us had mighty falls, while a couple could hardly move.
However we came away with a great experience. Some of us are certainly going to try and have some after school programme lessons and become the best wheelers ever.

Thanks a lot Christchurch City Council.

South East Zones Cross Country - Thursday 9 June 2011

This morning all the runners who were competing in S.E zones drove to Ferrymead with Mr McInnes and some parents. Eva,  Melissa , Nadine,  Hoki, Thomas, Jackson and Tyler from Room 5 took part in this event.
Sixteen other schools competed in the big race. None of us came first but Jackson came eighth which was great!
Over all , everyone did well and no one came last. We hope that we will do better,  next year and try harder!

It is time to renew our class treaty as we start our major study on CITIZENSHIP.

The Treaty is laid on the table.

CITIZENSHIP IN ROOM 5

We have just started an exciting study on "A Place to Belong" -Turangawaewae ,and are really looking forward to what this study  will lead us to making us the kind of citizens that anyone would just love to have in their society.

Our general display portrays the different cultures in our class -the word art letters were done in groups identifying Samoans,Europeans,Filipinos,Indians,Chinese and Maori-all working together as one.
